Did you know there is such a thing as a bull unicorn? The biologist that created this creature is named Dr. W. Franklin Dove. He did the experiment with a one day old calf. The cow only lived two years.
Challenge: Find a cool picture of the bull unicorn! Have fun!

In our room we do labs. Our latest experiment was with rice krispies and static electricity. The first experiment was with skittles and hot and cold water. We can't wait for the next experiment.
One more thing, we have a challenge for you: Make your own experiment at home and tell us all the details in the comments. You have two weeks, have fun!

Wow, the first week of school flew by! We spent a lot of time talking about classroom expectations, and learning about each other. We played a fun game called "Two truths and a lie." We set goals for ourselves and made them into shooting stars to hang in our room the whole year. We also learned about our classroom economy. We applied for jobs, and can't wait to start earning our salaries!
In reading, we started practicing Daily 5. We have already built our stamina up to 11 minutes and 15 seconds! We will continue working next week on staying quiet and focused during this time. In math, we set up our notebooks and learned about math tools. We also learned about team work today during Science time, when we tried the cup challenge.
We know that when we focus hard, our brains need a break, and we visited gonoodle.com many times this week. Our favorite brain break is called "Zap it Zap it Make it Happen!" We love dancing along with it! We can't wait to keep up the hard work next week!
